Monitor problem

i got back to campus and noticed an irritating issue with my monitur, theres a line type arrow thing on the screen where what shows up is a shade darker. is there anyway to fix this?

I used to have a line on my LCD when I first got it. I updated the drivers (or used different ones, can't remember) to my video card and it dissapeared.
