Well last night I saw dueces wild at 10:30 pm when the movie ended it was 12:15 there was 23049820498230 geeks running around with their buckets of popcorn. Im like wtf is going on, then I realized it was now May 16th and Star Wars was out. So, I said fuck it and went ahead and snuck in the movie. It was perfect timing, the previews just ended and the movie was just starting.

So, as the movie starts it was way out of focus and was very blurry. Before I know it, the whole theatre is chanting "Focus, Focus" About 20 minutes later the fucktard projector person finally focuses the film. In my opinion the movie sucked my dick, I don't know if it was because I had been in the movie theatre for the past 5 hours or if the gay love story of a jedi knight is something I didn't care to see. It took like 2 hours before the fucking fag Jedi's pulled a light saber out for more than 30 seconds. There is one good part in the whole movie and it's the part with Yoda. I won't spoil it for those of you that haven't seen it~

All in all, the movie sucked.

Me and my boys went to see it all five of us....First we stop at the store,and get a 2 6 packs of SMirnoff Ice.
Drink the fuck out of it on the way there to get a little buzz.
Also we sneak in a bottle of Capt Morgans spiced rum.

So we start drinking the RUM up,and this couple goes to the usher I guess to report us.
So the usher comes and tells us "I smell booze,and I got complaints you guys are rowdy.

Than my friends start laughing,and next minute we are booted out.
After that we go to my friend house. Pop in Clockwork Orange,and smoke a blunt.
So one day I'll see it when it comes to the video or DVD lol
I gotta say I havent gotten thrown out of a public place in so long since the time we went into a chinese restaurante,and we were talking in chinese fake accents lol
Our waitress was this chinese lady in her 40s that kept saying "thank you" after everything we said to her.
So she asked how the food was.
I told her it sucked.
Than she goes thank you lol
We start laughing our asses off,and my friend spits rice at the wall lol
We were booted asap....
Getting in trouble is sometimes too fun.
I rarely do it anymore but when we have a chance. We have a good damn time lol
But yes I went to see Star WArs,and no I didnt see it lol
At least I got my DOTS lol Those were always my favorite candy.

i went but thought it pretty much sucked so about a third of the way through the movie i poked a hole in the bottom of the popcorn bucket and stuck my dick through it and missed the rest of the movie while trying to hold in my laughter while this chick i was with got closer to the last of the popcorn.

i was really amazed.
i liked it.
it was more than i expected.
plus one thing that sucked was that right when count dooku fight with the jedi someone pulls the fire alarm so the film just stops for like 2 mins and everyone was so pissed. then 3 kids ran down to the floor and started playing with their jedi swords.. saved the day. but that last fight with yoda was sweet.

Now I gotta ask ya Scurry, which Star Wars movie are ya talking about? THE Star Wars? Ya it kicked ass, as did Empire and Return. But no joking aside I thought that the official 1st Star Wars movie (for the life of me I cant remeber the name right now lol), you know the one with Jar Jar Binks in every freakin scene, yah I thought that that one sucked pretty bad...

Then I saw Attack of the Clones, and my god, i could not wait for the movie to end, a movie has to be pretty awful for me to actually leave (last one was Show Girls *gag*) and the special effects where quite nice, but god allmighty the rest was crap, bad acting, boring plot, and the love shit goes on and on and on... I love you, i cant love you, but I love you, but I cant love you for scene after scene, I wanted to gouge my eyes out with my straw.

But yes Yoda kicked some ass, but I really dont think it was worth the wait for a 30 second fight scene. But the special effects werent just good, they were DAMn good, but still the movie was a bore...

The only people I could see even remotly liking this movie are those people that if George Lucas filmed a guy taking a crap and called it Star Wars 8 theyd love it

I think it's funny how it seems that the only people that thought the movie was bad were those who went in expecting/wanting to see 2 and a half hours of light sabre duels and spaceship dogfights. These are most of the same jokers that would rather get a quick thrill out of Quake than excellent quality out of a 1 player RPG.

You want to see a whole movie of action and combat, and think that's what makes a good movie, go watch Scorpion King (sucks balls) or rent some Steven Seagal trash.

You want to watch Lucas weave together one of the most amazing stories our generation has seen, masterfully place pieces of the puzzle together and add in combat where appropriate, watch Attack of the Clones.

ep2 sucks just as bad as ep1, lucas has no interest in actually telling a good story and is more concerned with special effects. here's an example, anakin goes and kills off a bunch of women and children, comes back and padme wants to marry him. that yoda fight scene had me laughing, it looked like something that should be in a parody of the movie. i could tear this entire movie to shreds but its not even worth the effort, go see spiderman instead.

WHat is so brilliant about this movie? What has not been done a thousand times over in countless other movies, some of which even had good acting and scripts to go along with it...

Please, just name one example of said brilliance? Cuz I sure as hell didnt see it, all I saw was bad acting, and a ho hum, blatantly obvious plot covered up by gorgeous sets and effects...

The thing that made a NEw Hope great way back when it came out (and no I dont mean back in the 90's, tho Im sure this is the first time you got to see it in a theater) was that it was so fantastic, it showed things people had never seen before, grand battles with exotic creatures in exotic locales. The special effects were leaps and bounds past anything that had been done up to that point. NOONE had ever seen that crap, so yes it was amazing, and it captivated millions of people. But it sure as hell wasnt the "brilliant" storytelling. And it definintly wasnt Mark Hammils acting either hehe.

And with the latest movies its still much of the same, except now we've all seen soooo much in movies that it just isnt amazing, yay a weird looking alien, oooh another bizzare martian landscape... *yawn* Tho yes it is a lot prettier then most movies, it really doesnt make a movie great...

I, like most late 20's early 30's males that I know, were all about Star Wars way back when. Second, if the plot of so obvious, how about you explain it for me. Why don't you tell me who really is the Jedi that ordered the Clone army? Also tell me why Mace Windu says he "will gather the rest of the Jedi" for the battle on Geonosis, yet there appears to be only 20-40 of them, when there were supposed to be thousands in Episode I? Answers, please.

Further, you mention things that you have seen before and that are now ho hum and that this movie was nothing new and that it has been all done before. Did you ever stop to think that much of it has been done before only because Lucas decided to do it initially? And for him to continue his tale that he had planned 20+ years ago, in the face of impostors and rip offs, is wrong and he should receive less credit for it? You speaketh from your asseth, mofo.

What the fuck are you smoking? I don't have any figures to back this up but no one watched any of the original Star Wars for the in depth plot and love stories. Sure finding out that Vader is Luke's father and shit is intresting but you have to be fucking retarted to think that's why it was such a hit. People went to see the sabre fights, the starships fight, etc. So when you goto these new ones you expect the same. I know I didn't go see it to watch some corny ass love story. Secondly, it's not usually a good practice to pose a question and then answer it yourself, prior to allowing room for the one whom you posed it to to respond. It might make one think your question is best posed when there is no answer available, lest it seem at least minimally worthy.

For one, your apparently equivalent comparison of plot lines between Star Wars and "Dude, Where's My Car?" is laughable at best. To compare a saga that entails at least six feature length films to unravel it's plot with a single film whose entire plot was revealed in 60 second trailers does not exactly reek of an apples to apples comparison. The story that Lucas created has generated countless books and stories and has enthralled generations for 25 years. But yet, there's no plot there worthy of any praise, correct?. Light saber duels translate well enough into literature to draw millions of fans to that genre as well, I suppose. There are plenty, repeat plenty of people who enjoy the Star Wars saga for the story and the plot, aside from the action sequences.

And before you condemn that crowd as "nerds", "geeks", "peons" or what have you, remember that you are indeed posting verbiage on a bulletin board directly related to a fantasy game consisting of orcs, goblins dragons and elves.

Additionally, it may be a prudent idea to type what you mean and mean what you type. When you say "no one", I read that to mean "no one". Not, "lots of people". To leave your intentions to the reader doesn't exactly make for a strong position. To say one thing, yet mean another exudes the impression that either you are not firm in what you believe, hence you leave room for contradiction, or that you are just generally confused.

Further, I have never used a thesaurus to look up a word that I have posted here, although I will readily admit to having used one on rare occasion to look up a word that another poster provided.

Finally, as far as the derivation of the word "guffaw" and my use of such, the word actually sprung to mind from a comic I once saw that contained a donkey, standing on two legs, with one kicking in the air, cross eyed, big lipped and just generally stupid looking. A cartoonish bubble arose from his lips reading "Guffaw!". The picture was of what one might commonly consider a "jackass". Hardly what I would consider "pretentious".

In some odd stroke of coincidence, that image came to mind as I responded to you. Go figure that.

Anakin looked like he walked off a community college theater (i was one =P ) and the chick , though quite hot, seemed to tone down her range to keep him from looking like a complete idiot.

The movie did kinda suck...cant believe anyone would even think about even implying the plot had any sort of highlights..or for that matter the love story, or acting...my god, the movie would have been 30 times better had no characters who werent animated just simply never opened their mouths, at least bad "acting" from the animated characters is more forgivable =P NO, SWs was about eye candy, and hell, I think it was worth the ten bucks for all the special effects, I enjoyed myself. Still, I cannot even concieve how anyone could even pretend the acting/love story etc werent just flaming piles of shit.

And really, does whether or not TR sucks have ANYTHING AT ALL to do with how bad star wars was? no, It surely doesnt. Ummm.... the star wars plot is pretty fucking straight foward. Ten minutes into the movie everything that is going to happen is pretty obvious, if not exactly then generally. It follows a very straightfoward space opera hero cycle. Almost to the letter, in fact--I wouldnt be surprised if Lucas used the hero cycle as an outline to write the script.

Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed episode 2, but uhh...youre a fucking retard if you really believe most of what youve been posting aobut is what made it "good." The plot was VERY uninspired, and outside of the action, was very poorly synthesized. No problem though, only an idiot would go to a star wars film hoping for anything but a cool special effects show =P

Good flick. I didn't really like Anakin's actor because he looked sorta geeky, but thats just me. Maybe it was because he won over Padme(sp?) and was wayyy too skinny to be such a big bad fellah in the movie (not that Jedi rely solely on muscle, though.)

One more thing: Lucas isn't selling out the movie with effects to make more cash. Least I don't think so. C'mon, you're talking about a guy that could afford to hire jesters to come to you house and make fun of you all day for no other reason to amuse himself. The guy is RICH. He doesn't need to make more Star Wars movies. It's his baby. He comissioned one of my favorite authors to write AOTC; R.A. Salvatore. Anyone read the book?

To say that every movie that follows a hero-cycle is predictable and lacking in plot is kin to saying that any movie that has more than two characters and at least one scene with a car is predictable and lacking in plot. Your entire description of the "plot" (clone army) encompasses one of many aspects of the movie.

A hero-cycle is such a high level, generic framework that it could hardly be classified, on it's own merits, as the entire plot of the movie. Your whole argument would mean that Gladiator, The Animal and It's a Wonderful Life are all the same movie, basically.
