Anyone have a sattelite connection?

I was wondering how reliable they are. I know when it rains here my sattelite tv goes out. Also how fast are they compared to DSL or cable modems? Reason I'm asking is because they don't offer DSL or Cable modem service in my neighborhood, but they do across the street, I'll never understand that shit.

They are a crock of shit and a waste of money, they only have downloading capabilities, no uploading unless you have the money to afford a transmitter, which means you need to also pay for a landline for uploading. So basically you pay for the Downloading connection which is about 30-70, and need a phone line which is about 15 more. Plus they only have about 150kb/s top speed for downloading.

Beats my 56k :( But it sounds like i'll be paying 100 a month for unlimited service. Think I am better of sticking with my basic peice of shit.

Yesterday I had a bunch of fastfood *well Denny's I count as fastfood since it's cheap and crap basically* and the day before that was similar. hell, I haven't eaten a cracker in over 3 months, and when I did, it was to eat with chili. :eek: Don't get satalite, dude. 56K ownz it half the time heh, as soon as a cloud is visible you get less than 56k and it is very very unreliable. I had one at work and I live in Florida where the sun always shines and it still sucked. You outta look into DSL if cable is not an option, otherwise I would use dial up.
