in my experience, about 60-70% of spyware is in the temp folder or temporary internet files folder, so if you clear that out it'll help a bit. The rest of the files are in the system32 folder, which ya gotta be careful about removing. As far as the error message you're getting now, I would assume you're getting as you boot up, probably saying that it can't find a file specified. If that's the case, ya gotta delete a registry value to get rid of that message(not a big deal)

I wouldn't worry about the registry values until you actually get rid of that infected file. Something that may not have been done(and I shoulda told ya this to begin with) is you have to show hidden files and folders. So next time you feel like doing it, reboot into safe mode again, open up the temp folder(C:\windows\temp\), go to the Tools menu, and down to "Folder Options." Click on the View tab, and make sure that "Show Hidden Files and Folders" is selected, and "Hide Protected Operating System Files(Recommended)" is not selected. Then delete any files that appear in that folder and reboot to see if that will fix the problem.

Ah ok. I'll try that later.
I have another question but I'll post that later aswell. Right now I'm busy watching the server select screen.
Also go to start, run and run msconfig.
Click startup tab, and untick anything that looks dodgy, or is something you don't know about.
Click OK, restart PC.
That will stop whatever starting up with Windows.

msconfig is ok for troubleshooting, but shouldn't at all be used as a permanent fix. There are certain things that can happen that will just reenable it or cause a duplicate entry to appear
