Well first of all... Hiya, folks! I won't bother with introductions as those of you that know who I am don't need one and those that do not couldn't care less who the Hell I am anyway. ;)

I considered posting this on your WoW forum but it occured to me that the real subject -- the decline of cajones in gaming -- wasn't really specific to WoW.

I've no intention of boring ya with server politics but lemme just give ya a very brief rundown of the parties involved:

Cadia -- Alliance's top PvE guild... Kinda like Ascending Dawn was on RZ.

Mayhem -- One of the top 3 Horde PvE guilds since it's inception.

Moknathal -- Alleged ass kisser.

A significant portion of the hippy commune which makes up the non-AD population of the server think I'm just picking nits by refering to him as a brown noser so I'm visiting a few old acquaintances -- DB.Com being one of my stops, obviously -- in the hopes that a little perspective can be given via the opinions of folks that have actually seen a lick of PvP outside of a /duel.

yeah this guy is transparently kissing ass, it sounds to me right off from reading his post, that the "cadia" guild are a notch above his guild and that his guild is interested in making alts for an eventual move to a different server but have doubts as to their ability to be competitive on a different server so need/want a partner.

we have far to much of this shit on archimonde as well unfortunately, i sincerely miss going head to head against the real pvp guilds that were forged in a game with atcual penalties to losing where you would form rivalries that lasted for years as it added a lot of depth and enjoyment to the game when your guild had a common enemy to gun for that were on an equal skill level as opposed to a swath of retards like these types.

on archimonde from my own perspective there is not a single guild that i give a shit about when i kill, everyone i come across is either a complete pushover or only a medicore fight, sure there are some good ones but they are few and far between and there is not a single alliance guild that is collectively good.

if you look at our server boards on the wow site it reads much like your snip of that post, everyone is stroking each others cock shouting good game this and congrats on pve accomplishment that, it is a popularity contest that is maintained by underskilled blue guilds feeding each others ego at every turn to keep their names mentioned as much as possible, whereas the handful of older pvp guilds on archimonde that you are no doubt familiar with are head and shoulders above any of these others, but people on the opposite faction scream loudly ho much they suck etc, the reason for this is because these are the guilds that piss people off when they kill them.

over the years ive spent playing games ive come to realize that if the enemy is patting you on the back after every fight then you arent doing a very good job, but if they come to bitch about you then your right where you need to be if your a pvp guild.

i blame the new flavor of so called "pvp guilds" on the fact that games are getting more and more dumbed down and easy to play, gone are the days where if you got pked all of your shit on your character and potentially all of your posessions in the entire game were now the property of your killer, or even the tame by comparison bubble of xp lost when you fucked up and died in easier than dirt pve.

instead all new games seem to be gravitating to the easiest path possible, with wow such things as neon red signs above the other factions head so you can see them from miles off help eliminate ambushes that older mmorpg players learned to instinctively watch out for, zero death penalty makes it so the guy with 100 kills and 200 deaths is still further along than the guy with 99 kills and 0 deaths, radar maps eliminate the need to learn the games geography, and if you die what do you lose? not a damn thing.

as long as new games keep coming out in easy mode joke guilds like these will continue to emerge and slowly replace the older guilds where the objective was to kick the other guys ass in as messy and painful a fashion as possible so that you could amuse yourself by reading him complaining about you on the boards later that night.


but yeah, that guy is a kiss ass, and i hope he gets that other guild to roll alliance come "pawn" us "newbs" on archimonde.
