Crashing to desktop running EQ

After I downloaded the new files from the Patch Server 2 hours ago, I crash each time to the desktop between the server selection screen and the character selection screen.

Is this a general problem that all of you have or is EQ working like it should for you?

This happened to everyone. They say to go into the EQ folder and delete the Gequip3.s3d file. Hope that helps. It worked for me.
