Shadowbane is now confirmed free for everyone. This includes all expansions and no monthly charges for existing and new users. Here (http://chronicle.ubi.com/newspost.php?id=15088) is the official post.
I'll make it easy for those who just want to play and dont want to read a bunch of bullshit.
Go to here (http://www.fileplanet.com/130645/130000/fileinfo/Shadowbane-25-Day-Free-Trial-%5BWin32%5D-(US-&-Canada-Only)) and log in as:
cbjohn1@asu.edu / spitfire
Go down to the Free servers and click one of them. Dling may take a long time.
Read this (http://ubbforums.ubi.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=playerguides&Number=2491248) guide so you don't go into the game blind.
Unlike WoW your characters build usually cant be changed, if you fuck up, you fuck up. leveling in Shadowbane is a lot easier then WoW. There is a VERY small exp penalty for grouping so basically zerg grouping is the way to go.
Once you decide which Class/profession you want to play go to this page (http://www.anybrowser.org/shadowbane/templates) and figure out what template you think is best for your tastes. At first it doesnt matter if you fuck up cause we'll likely reroll superior specs once we figure them out.
After you are done Dling you'll need to create an account and it'll automatically sign you up as a free subscriber and all should be good.
We are on Redemption and our guild is formed.
