Computer help: Access Violation Errors

Been trying to use my legal copy of pro tools to record some music. I open the program and can't do anything, even close it, due to "Access violations". Upon further research I've discovered that this isn't a problem unique to pro tools, but Windows in general. Anyone know if those registry cleaning programs work well for this? Or any solutions? Thanks much

Just backup and format.

I can't think of any freeware ones, but should you be interested in demoing full-version some software for evaluation purposes, you might try the apps section on either mininova.org or piratebay.org

Yeah i was afraid of reformatting. Just did it like a month ago as well =/. Guess I didn't have too much stuff reinstalled anyhow.
