What vid card do you have? Ram might be a better investment, I have tested over 16 driver sets for Nvidia and have found some tweaks for FPS boosting.

video card is the biggy, cpu might bottleneck though if you have like a celeron and a 880gts, lol.

Everyone that i have talked that have gone from 1 gig of ram to 2 gigs of ram have had their FPS increase by like 20+. Maybe ill test it later swaping a chip out of my wifes comp.

You have to use older drivers on the geforce series cards too.

Depends on card and drivers. Thats why i asked what card he had. Im using geforce 7300 and found older driver set from last may that got me up to 25 FPS with max resolution and lots of settings at like 25%, as compared to before i was getting 14 FPS in minimum resolution with everything set to 0. By DOWNGRADING my drivers. You well get less hitching and more seemless enviroment with more ram.

Lol btw, if any of you are using vista ( like I was) ... scrap your build and do a xp/vista partition. vanguard runs 50% better on my machine now on a higher setting than it was at before. I'm now getting 40-50 fps in town, on balanced, whereas before I was lucky to be getting 10fps on High Performance.

It's a HUGE difference. Don't use vista.

Vista is extremely inefficient for gaming right now. Like Arkons said, partition your drive and put Vanguard on XP.

VG is ram hungry. If you want to boost your fps buy ram.
I say this because of 2 reasons - 1) the different graphic settings show very little change in fps overall (test it for yourself). 2) I have dual 7300GTs in SLi and was getting 45ish fps steady with 1G ram. 2G ram put me up to 75ish fps almost steady, which was a huge difference compared to the increase with lowering the graphics detail etc. It also made a huge difference in the stall load lines made.

p.s. this was my experience during beta not retail, maybe things have changed.

Stupid necros are destroying shit in pvp lvl 42 pet hits for 3.2k dispells and runs faster then the fastest horse and will chase through 3 chunks before they give up.

Its getting balanced pretty quick, the problem is the pets dont give up :P and can chase u zone to zone to zone. They just need to do something about the clerics i mean gods.

my biggest problem fighting pet classes is that they freeze my comp for a good 10 seconds when they come into view. If I have time to load them though, gg, pet classes blow.
