I'm a big fan of Mythic and DAoC, so I have been following WAR for a while now. I'm not sure if DB is interested in the game at all but I thought I would post the oppertunity incase you are.

Are you passionate? Are you ready for WAR? Are you prepared to play in a version of the Warhammer world that needs your help to be the best that it can be?

Then talk amongst yourselves, choose your leaders, and wish them the best as they fill out your guild's application by the May 4th deadline. We'll post the chosen guilds in the June newsletter. Filling out this application does not guarantee a spot in the beta. Instead, we're going to use the applications to choose a wide range of guilds. From the biggest armies to the closest clans, from the all-night raiders to the once-a-weekers, we are looking for the most passionate guilds on the internet to help us test and refine WAR.

This application is for guild participation only. We'll have more information about the WAR Beta and general sign-ups in next month's newsletter.

Good luck to all who apply!

How can it be hardcore when the developers make it clear, "no one wants to lose hard earned items, so we wont have item looting" ... or ...

"sometimes players dont want pvp so we will create specific zones for them to pvp in"

you can put lipstick on a pig but its still a pig...

--- that said, I'll be trying out this slightly-less-carebear-than-wow game because there is simply nothing else worth playing.

I won't be wasting my time. I've already learned my lesson with WoW. If they aren't going to go FFA at release then there is no point in playing. That's how fucking DB rolls, and it needs to stay that way. That being said, if we ever do venture into a future game as a guild and it isn't FFA count me out. WoW blows, people play it b/c it fills the void of having nothing better to do.

Dark Age of Camelot had a FFA server so i'm hoping Mythic continues the tradition with Warhammer.

Hardcore pk and ffa are dead and I'd be surprised if any game pops up with it again. And I do not count 1 FFA server out of 23049834 carebear ones a pk game. If you aren't willing to compromise somewhere, then you will pretty much be playing nothing. That's part of the reason why I'm considering turning away from MMO's to RTS or something with a more pure pvp atmosphere. That and I just don't have the hours to put into the timesinks that MMO's require to be the best of the best...which is the only way I intend to play games.

WAR is carebear pvp, just know what you are getting into.

AoC will be more your flavor. Hardcore and pvp centric.
