View Full Version : Where are all the good RPG's at?

Not sure how many of you play console games anymore but if you do, where the hell are all the good RPG's at? I've found nothing to rival the old Final Fantasy games or Chrono Trigger. Anyway, just looking for a good RPG for PS2 to pass some time and if there is some really good ones for the new consoles, you can try and tempt me into buying one. I know I'll be buying a PS3 ( sadly ) for FF13 when it's released. List away if you have any ideas.

I'm going to assume that the lack of responses means that there is jack shit out as far as rpg's go for ANY system.

Uhh, I couldn't find a release date on FFXIII and FFXIII Versus so I highly doubt December. And if it is December, I am assuming you meant 2008 which is in a year? If you have a link to their release date I'd like to know. Gonna look for it now but it wasn't there 3 days ago that is for sure.

Hrmm... FFXIII release date is 12/01/07 on ebgames.com. FFXIII Versus release date is December, 2008 on Best Buy. The Wiki on the FFXIII series is saying 2008 on everything though, so I guess that's probably a safe bet. Lame =/

Still though - Heavenly Sword is out now and Assassin's Creed is coming in November and it's supposed to be pretty good.

Blue Dragon for xbox 360, its made by the final fantasy guy...........but has very mixed reviews lotta love / hate goin on. Eternal Sonata for Xbox 360 also.

have you even played heavenly sword?

even though it is short , its still a kick ass fucking game. definately much better than god of war 1/2

A game that you can finish in one day if you actually enjoy the game is not a good game. Not for 60 bucks. I would like to know how it is supposedly better than god of war besides graphics. The story is about the same quality, combat is ok, and the 'puzzles' are laughable. Plus the fact the game was being hyped so much that it was 'the game' you had to own for the Ps3.

As for your question if I've played it, I did briefly for 2 hours, as I don't own a PS3 myself. Also on top of it all the game isn't even an RPG as is what the thread is asking :P

I like Blue Dragon, i'm on the third disc now. First disc was meh, after that, pretty awesome.

wut? zelda LTTP and thousands of other games says ur wrong. short games = better. i would rather finish a game in a couple of days then spend a month back tracking all over a bunch of shitty places ive already seen.
