'The' PVP server

Heya DB, long time no see.

Do you guys have any contact with other oldschool pvp guilds that are going to hit AoC? I think at release you have one opportunity to try and consolidate the 'hardcore' pvp guilds and it would be a shame not to have as many of the best and most established guilds all fighting it out in the same place.

I have seen Sinister, a new group called 'Battlegroup9' and a few others but it seems there is little or no communication amongst the oldschool pvp guilds prior to release. TBW and OPP (from Shadowbane Dread) are going to be rolling together with many of us pre-ordered and getting started this Saturday with the early access. We do not want to screw up and isolate ourselves from all the fun.

Hit me back if you know anything or want to help organize a round table of some of the established PVP guilds in the next few days.

Well, after a bit more research, it seems Battlegroup9 has already taken the lead on organizing the PVP server of choice.

Let's hope AoC handles launch better than WoW did with Archimonde.

So to clarify what is the best server for FFA PvP? FYI we don't really plan on merging or allying with any pvp guilds other than ourself. Battlegroup9 sounds like a zerg.

BG9 isn't a guild, its just a method of getting people that want to be on the same server on the same server.

Like the time all PvP guilds decided to join Archimonde at launch...Horrible, just horrible...1 week of downtime on the server, other guilds got impatient decided to join another server instead...Same thing will happen on AoC if this BG9 gets too big...I don't like downtime :(

Archimonde was also the 1st server on the list...people tend to forget the impact this had on destroying that server at launch.

BG9 and I think the 'Curse' community is also doing something similar, plan to goto something other than the 1st one unless of course there is only one.

The 'Curse' community is a self-proclaimed old school pvp community that predates BG9 quite a bit and the egos have already taken over. Unfortunately, we might have a major fracture before the game even launches due to a few people's disdain for the fact BG9 was born from WoW.

Stay tuned, looks like things are going to get interesting either way.

I have this feeling Gray is gonna pussy out again. I have no idea why, the history would make this game fun, even if the game only turns out to be average.

AzzAzz has been bitter since he got booted for choosing PvE over PvP in WoW. We still love him though, he was a good DBer before WoW clouded his PvP vision.
