Looks cool as fuck...
Figures I just got bored with NVN and sold the game to a friend and for some ungodly reason bought E & B to pass the time before SB comes out.
I read a bit about it Malignancy, but I know nothing of the Dark Sun environment. If I understand correctly, it is an AD&D campaign setting like Forgotten Realms, and DI has developed a mod to NVN that allows a persistent world within that setting? How does the pvp work, free for all? The website doesnt give that much info, but it definitely peaked my interest...

Meat-
PvP is open, but there are consequences - get caught in town and you'll find out :P Besides that, imagine PvP like in Ultima Online, but far better balanced. Duels are particularly interesting, because if done inside an arena, there are no consequences except for a hit to one's pride.
DSO is a specialty mod developed using the NWN engine. Back in the early 90s, before Ultima Online, there were several online games that were the precursors to the current online community. For those old DBers who remember fighting KAAOS, some of the KAAOS members played NWO (Neverwinter online) and DSO (Dark Sun Online) back then. I actually started even earlier, playing the original Island of Kesmai in the mid-80s on compuserve's network at $6 bucks an hour. The NWO and DSO games were online versions of the gold-box type SSI AD&D series. Several of Dies Irae's members also played DSO or NWO back then, and this current mod is an identical (and more expansive) world to the original DSO using the new NWN engine. Its good and there are relatively few online-game-newbies playing.
I've been very impressed with what my guild has done with it.
