Gah wtf, cant play again, I pick my server then hit play and then screen goes black for a lil bit. Then I get a Eqgame.exe has cannot run, we're sorr for the inconvenience or somethin :( then asks if i wanna send an error report blah blah blah. Grrrr... Im p. o.'d :(

any idea what i should do, I dont really feel like reinstalling eq again every time i wanna play lol (if thats the only thing that works)

What are your windows colours set to? If they are at 32 bit switch em to 16.

If it is the 16bit 32 bit problem it usually fucks up the screen with the rules of eq on it.

If you are trying to run 2 accounts at the same time on the same computer, make sure you copy your eq file and make a new one, then make a new short cut for EQW to that directory, otherwise it screws up the game or slows you down.

You also may need to patch up EQ, as well make sure you got the new version of EQW.

Also did you make sure you put the EQW files into the eq directory?

Yah I did put all the eqw files into the eq directory but for some reason i started gettin the eqgames message, and now when i try toplay regularly the same shit happens :(

I removed all the eqw files an Im still gettin that shite, ani even changed it from 32 bit color to 16bit an Im STILL getting that f00kin message :(

Grrrr.... pissin me right off lol oh well...

1. Reinstall EQ

2. Repatch

3. Go to your eqclient.ini file and switch the videobitsperpixel=32 to 16 aswell as the setting you said you already changed on your computer

4. Make a new folder directly in your c:drive to extract the eqw stuff into

5. Create a .bat file called "startwindow" or whatever you wanna call it and link to your everquest.exe so if you named the folder in your c drive EQW....

c:\eqw\eqw.exe c:\program files\everquest\everquest.exe

Not sure but I think it's case sensitive so mess around with that till you don't get a bad command or file name error in the dos .bat window that pops up

Don't put any EQW stuff in your everquest folder it's askin' for trouble.

I've never downloaded the files to my directory, I did it straight to my desktop and it works fine off of there.

Neither am I really just I know using 3rd party programs is prohibited and if you put them in the eq folder thats like the first place they could look for them if they ever chose to which they probably wouldn't but hey....

EQw has been in my EQ folder for quite awhile, and I've never had any problems with them saying anything about it. Also it's not detectable (legally) by them unless you tell them about it :)

Actually using EQW is a grey area for VI, yes it is a 3rd party program that alters gameplay, but it gives the same results as hooking a second monitor up to your tower and playing a second account. They prefer the end results of what EQW does for them, doubles up the amount of subscriptions able to run on a computer. I believe they only really care about cash, not the integrity of the game. Why else the other day when they say the use of 3rd party programs is not to be used to automate combat or tradeskills? They may say that EQW is against the rules, but have they actually enforced the rule?

I was pretty much thinking the same thing. I know it's been brought up on one of the various sony forums and they said it wasn't considered an exploit that gave an unfair advantage over the game. I just didn't want to get into a big discussion about the whole thing since I've gone over this with various people multiple times now. :\
