fixed it.
repeated and rapid movement clicks equal a crash to desktop for anyone else?

how did you fix it?
this game fucking blows so far, its never going to be released by the 25th

id have to agree with that from what ive seen so far. Theres so many random crashes its disgusting.
i fixed the lag by knocking every graphics option to the lowest possible setting. But I still get some shitty FPS in forests, even with this beast machine.
cant imagine how fucked up it is for those with later model comps

Really if they could at least make the game stable it would be decent. I cant even fuckin play without crashing once every time i forget to regulate my clicks to one per 10 seconds
And now the game servers seem to be down. keep getting the "server not found message" after 10 minutes of request being queued.
game will lose a lot of playerbase if its released on the 25th in this condition.

I read they have lots of lag because they run the game in some kind of debugg mode that records everything that everyone does and the programs reaction to it ...or sumshit

I cant even enter and the servers are supposedly up, been trying off and on for 30 minutes

Figured out its the trees and graphics that are causing random crashes.

1. I play on a 466mhz AMDK6 processor. Geforce2 64mb video card and 381mb of RAM. I'm not having nearly as many problems as you are claiming to have.
2. This is the first time I've ever called anyone this seriously, but you people playing the game for 5 fucking minutes or playing to level 20 and claiming about how bad it sucks or whatever... and completely blowing out of proportion the problems with it.. are fucking newbies. That's all there is to it. You play a game for 10 minutes, levela guy to level 5, and you're a fuckin' expert on the game and how good it's going to be come release. You know everyone that has been in beta for more than a week are fucking laughing at you.
Instead of actually finding out why there is such lag in this area with 50 newbie level 1 players killing mobs and debugging mode turned on, you just come to messageboards and try to pass off your expert game review rhetoric as the gospel.
Go back to Evercamp, we don't want you.

Okay let me sum it up for you Arri. I've betaed a lot of fucking games, and I can tell you that not even AO was in this bad of condition 3 MONTHS before it was released, and previously that had been the worst game I had tested. The final 3 months of beta testing shouldn't have debug mode on, if debug mode is on that means they still havent found 50% of the bugs in the game, 21 days from release.
The graphics are unimpressive, and when compared to the other mmorpgs suck, they look on par with AC, except AC's trees looked like trees, and bushes looked like bushes. Not green blobs.
So yes, I am an expert, and yes I can fucking make the assumption that a game is unplayable within 5 minutes. I can say that I like the character creation system, the spell system seems cool. I like the story and I like what they claim for game play. However, the game isn't playable or even close to retail.

I don't care how many games you've downloaded the beta client for. You haven't tested anything if all you do is log in for 5 minutes or play solely in the newbie areas.

No. What it means is they just patched recently and are finding the bugs with their current build when before their most recent patch they had logging/debugging on for about 3 to 4 hours a day and the game ran quite smooth, aside from some framerate problems that are quite easy to remedy if you take the 10 minutes to find out about it.

If your graphics look like blobs then that is on you. They looked fine to me before I turned all memory-intensive graphics options off. Now they still look all right, but when you get closer they do tend to look like blobs. however, if I had a better system it would run perfectly. It still ran decently for me when I had smoothing/shadowing on and texture detail high.
So yes, I am an expert,
No, you're not.
and yes I can fucking make the assumption that a game is unplayable within 5 minutes.
You can make the assumption, but you would be incorrect in being under the impression that it is an educated guess, or that it is even correct in any form. Make whatever assumptions you want to help you sleep at night. The fact is that the game server has run quite smooth without debugging on (and there aren't a ton of game stopping bugs). 1500 people have been logged on the server at once with my latency never going above 200, and most recently the server has had 1750 people on it without crashing (Couldn't speak about latency because it was after the most recent patch).
I can say that I like the character creation system, the spell system seems cool. I like the story and I like what they claim for game play.
The Lord hath decreed and the masses shall flock.
However, the game isn't playable or even close to retail.
... in your opinion.
Oh? Well here's my opinion:
You're trying to save face by backing up some unfounded claims you have made after playing a game for an extremely short period of time. You made these claims that anyone who has played the game (yet again) for more than a week or two, will easily be able to sit back and laugh about.
However, if you are so strongly rooted in your conviction that the current people playing who have played a significant amount of time are mistaken, then I only have one thing else to say to you:
No one is forcing you to play.

yeah i crash a lot to (currently cant log in, which burns my ass since i was stalking a group), and my ping has never been less than about 600 and thats rare, ive had it as high as 16k.
i also get a lot of choppiness etc which i shouldnt on this comp, and forests are really laggy.
and ive never gotten better than 14 fps and frequently sprial down to 6 fps and have to relog to get it back to 10 or so.
the graphics of the building take a while to load to, i walk into a building thats totally empty then 20 secs later all the furinutre and shit appears, usually after ive walked between all of it and then have to move around for 5 mins to get out.
some of these things prob because i need more ram though.
but other than that and things dealking with balance/content i dont see any real problems with game, if debug mode is on ive heard it sucks like 60% of the resources or some shit.
anyhow id suggest playing during off peak times if you can, pretty smooth then and you can get a better feel for game.
im sure the release will be very bumpy, but the game will go on i think, even anarchy online is thriving now.
and a few months after release the game will prob be pretty good once things have straightened out and all the major fixes bugs have been found and dealt with.
no games are ever released finished anymore, so i dont imagine SB will be either =p

I have a 2ghz amd athlon and 1 gig of DDR ram with a geforce 4 4100. I run it on max reso and it goes very smoothly. However the ping on that game is horendous when I fist got in it was alright but after you get near people it goes to hell lol. Definately liveable though, I need to get on when Arri said at less populated hours. Also I am on 56k but I have never had that kind of a lag problem as far as ping/latency goes.
My first impressions are that this is gunna be a good game though.

Arri get a fucking clue man
"I don't care how many games you've downloaded the beta client for. You haven't tested anything if all you do is log in for 5 minutes or play solely in the newbie areas. "
Wrong, I've tested the newbie areas... If the game crashes on me 3 times within an hour in the newbie areas its a pretty good indication that the game is still very buggy. If there is massive lag and low extremely low fps on a high end machine, that's probably not a good sign either. And from what Darwoth says, it doesn't seem like it gets all that much better either.
"No. What it means is they just patched recently and are finding the bugs with their current build when before their most recent patch they had logging/debugging on for about 3 to 4 hours a day and the game ran quite smooth, aside from some framerate problems that are quite easy to remedy if you take the 10 minutes to find out about it. "
I did find out about it, all my graphic settings are all currently down to the lowest settings. Yet still the highest FPS i have seen is around 15 or so.
"If your graphics look like blobs then that is on you. They looked fine to me before I turned all memory-intensive graphics options off. Now they still look all right, but when you get closer they do tend to look like blobs. however, if I had a better system it would run perfectly. They do look fine, just not impressive, when compared to say any other MMORPGs in dev. right now, or even EQ for that matter. Although I assume they are putting a lot more effort into gameplay which I applaud and is why I won't be playing any of the other games and be playing this one instead.
"No, you're not. "
Yes I am.
"(and there aren't a ton of game stopping bugs)"
Compared to what? Like I said before, there are more game stopping bugs in SB then AO had 3 months before launch, and that was previously the buggiest game I had betaed.
"You're trying to save face by backing up some unfounded claims you have made after playing a game for an extremely short period of time. You made these claims that anyone who has played the game (yet again) for more than a week or two, will easily be able to sit back and laugh about. "
I can make claims about the part of the game I have played so far, and that's all I did and claimed to do. I do hope you are getting some good laughs now, because you are going to be pretty pissed when you get your copy and try to log on... because this is going to be anything but a smooth release... guranteed.
If you do think this game is going to have a smooth release if it goes gold on the 25th, you're fucking ignorant. And you are refusing to look at past evidence as an indication of what it takes to have a smooth release in this industry and what isn't up to par.
This game looks like a great game like I said before, but its still not ready for release, and I CAN tell that within the 4 hours or so I've played it (not counting the crashes).
In my opinion you are trying to suger coat what is going to happen come release date, and you know it.

arri you are the fucking newby if you cant see the crashing problems that exist. The game isnt even stable, nevermind balancing issues.
Celoco, I SAID I love you.
