so i log on and am greeted by chaos lol.. entire server is being randomly teleported to middle of ocean.. under water city called Green Acres.. ruled by "Buggy Code" haha..

and city guards have various guild tags.. wrecking havoc on everyone :P

here are a couple screens of me getting warped to middle of ocean and getting hit for neg dmg :D

there was also a HUGE fucking giant ith r30 tag.. moping around (im talking HUGE like taking up entire screen) lol.. was ownage

Shadowbane Service Emergency Update

The Shadowbane service came under serious attack tonight. Wolfpack Studios and ubi.com have been called in and we will be investigating these incidents all through the night tonight. Ubi Soft and Wolfpack Studios are now working with law enforcement and we promise all of you that these individuals will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

As a precautionary measure, all the game servers will be brought down during the next 30 minutes for some emergency maintenance. We will be bringing worlds back online one at a time, so we expect this entire process to last a minimum of two to six hours. We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience or interruption of play time these measures will cause.

And.....

We are beginning a massive investigation into the incidents surrounding the Scorn server tonight immeadiately. The Scorn server will most likely be rolled back several hours tonight to a time before these events started occuring. We will be taking the server offline until more information can be gathered. I will update everyone about the server status as more information comes available.

It does not sound like they know what they are doing. With the exposure they have you need to anticipate these things and have scripts (contingency plan?) laying around that can deal with the situation.

I'm very tempted to start a class action lawsuit against UBI for their incompetance at providing a secure network. If people were able to actually hack into the game and manipulate the whole server, its easy to imagine that they had complete access to our personal information in the UBI database as well. This includes credit card numbers, addresses, etc., which can be used to fish out a complete background description on everyone playing the game.

I plan upon keeping a tight watch on my personal finances for the next few months to ensure identify theft did not occur. I recommend all of you do the same, and if it had occured as a result of UBI's negligence, I will be filing a class action lawsuit against UBI.

supposedly what happened was that some goof has been hacking *client side* data which included proc rate (person would proc 100% of time for 200-900) as well as GM commands...

User Details/Biling info is *server side*.. meaning our cc #s amoung other things are more than likely still safe..

its very easy to hack a client side packet.. hence ShowEQ.. Map Hacks in War3.. etc etc..

So that would be assuming that server maps are stored on the client side??? Impossible! Whoever hacked Scorn was in on the server side. I can't see it being possible for map info to be stored on each client, that would be retarted arcitechture.

Come to think of it, Ubi is pretty retarted. If thats the case, that explains alot of the lag issues.

SB.exe fluxs a *lot* during gameplay.. hence why it crashes so often.. i wouldnt be surprised if they stored a lot more than jus GM commands/map info client side..

There's alot more shit going on here then it seems, let me break it down...

Lets start with the Scorn Boards themselves, the moderaters that control the Scorn Boards are R30's Dennen of R30's openly admitts to this. R30's are CLAIMING that they to were ported into death from this bug... Now if they were not responsible why would they lie about that. I know for a fact that r30's were not killed from this bug. Heres one of many qoutes to give you any idea from r30's mouths themselves...

"I'm a thief in R30s, I was at khar bank trying to trade my +30 con rune for a +5 +10 and +15 con runes, then all of the suden I'm under the floor. Then there is monster aggro spam, I hit HIDE and tried to figure out what the hell was going on. First I thought it was some special GM event with monsters attacking khar, then I realized I wasn't under the floor I was in some new place, the City of Green Acres.

So then I hit sneak and notice thet there is like 50 corpses under me. So I proceed to loot everyyone I can click on. I was at about 200k, +20 str rune, a gnarly mace of some sort, a +10 con rune(woot). New streams of people were constantly being teleported in, all of them LAPD. I was the ONLY R30 I could see. At one point there was many many LAPD in the place and the hoard of monsters wasn't attacking them so I started to freak out that they might find me but then I got booted to "Attempting to log into server" and I thought that was a server roll back like many ppl were saying was gonna happen and now it tells me "You are not allowed to log in yet." This happens everytime, I checked my email and my account status but there was nothing about being banned, I hope I'm not banned, I just took advantage of the situation like I think anyone would.

Now as you know Wolfpack is not instituting a server wide rollback but a client personal at request 72 hour delayed rollback.(what a fucking joke in itself)

Which means r30's get to keep all the money made from this bug even from the players who get refunded via rollback. Now why the fawk would they allow one guild to benefit so much from a HACK.

Moving along, Why does one guild control the messege boards and heralded news for a server and can EDIT each as they see fit.

NOWHERE in this article is mention of the DRAGONS spawned by the CCR's that took out most of MT's defense. Don't you think DRAGONS being spawned by the GM's would make FRONTLINE news with a horde of Screenshots.

I was banned from the Messege boards on Scorn for bringing up this very issue, So im wondering at this point if this was even a hack at all.

Im sorry but spawning a town and auto porting players into it is a mighty big fawken hack HTF could you have someone surfing your database that long to set this shit up and have them dissappear like a ghost with no trace.

Not to mention the fact that everytime we try to attack r30s, our groups consistently freeze up and encounter SB.eXe errors while the r30s are able to kill us at will.

I find it extremely interesting that when I was an r30, I participated in at least 15 sieges without a single freeze or SB.exe error. Now that I'm against the r30s, every single time I attempt to fight one or more of them, I freeze, lag, or sb.exe. Every fucking time...

I think UBI needs to lighten up to be honest with ya, back before the time of EQ games like UO, and my old game DSO people did this shit all the time, it was normal, and common... Actually had one night where a guy got such high level staff power's he removed the actual Staff from game and banned them, wasn't till the programer (Fyrestaff LOL) the only one with higher power's came in and removed him that it stopped.
It stopped with Everquest IMO, cause in my old game if ya got banned oh well make a new account ya lost 2-3 days of work, in Everquest you lost months of work if you were banned.....

Now, back to Shadowbane where leveling, items, and everything is easy, unless of course you own buildings and who cares if ya get banned... I'm goin to feel sorry for the kid that did this if UBI hunts em down and has him arrested. UBI needs to take responsibility, and say flat out we fucked up, were working to make sure something like this won't happen again... Cause honestly, who wants to take a bet more times spent finding this kid or kids, then is spent fixing the damn game and way he did it?

And Malignant, Zelnik's the sameway he advertised he was UBI Staff, and now plays leadership in Begotten no doubt abusing his power's as well.

Lol if Ubisoft really wants to hunt the person down who did this they need only step into the next room and knock on Wolfpacks door.

Unless Neo himself jumped into SB's matrix your not pulling off a hack that big without acess to the games design, nobody has a back door that big besides Fist.

PS Mal your not the only one who noticed the massive SB errors our entire nation(Im in Rome with ya) Has noticed a huge regular occurance of MASS LINKDEATHS.

Obviously some r30's have access to command scripts that can cause single LD's. Weirder yet I've noticed a stationary LAG EFFECT that they seem to be useing. I know that sounds wild but after the Green Acres incident its not so far fetched. During the siege on Rome(Venice Rome not the island) the entire town was lagged to fuck. During the raid someone in r30's made the mistake of speaking in say he said and i quote "look at them they can't move LMFAO" while they ran around totally uneffected. I also noticed that the area around rome was fine but step within a few feet of the city and lag began. With only 20 r30's in rome i fail to see how that much lag was created. If that was a hack then my hats off to them for being Neo skilled, but it's obvious(to me atleast most love the denial of thinking theres hope) that the programmers are aiding them.
