Let me tell you this first, I was a skeptic about this game, I'm a hardcore gamer, I play everything from RPG's to FPS's. I am a Tribes 2 and Day of Defeat addict, so I was going into this very skeptical, especially since some of the Tribes 2 members were telling me it really sucks. And knowing these people made Everquest kind of quirked me. But I got it anyway.

Well, I spent the first 2-3 hours completing the training courses which will let you get the jist of things. I must say, I was very impressed with the training courses and learned quite a few things which I probably wouldn't have ever found out. The graphics are immensly beautiful, more than screenshots do justice.

Onto multiplayer; I log into my new account, and immediate set up my character on Emerald server and as a New Conglomerate (sp?) character. I pick my spawn point (out of like 8-10 continents) I figured to start out on our home continent I would be a tad bit more safe to pick some more information up. I headed immediatly for the Virtual Reality room, where you can gain battle points flying and driving different vehicles. I then went to the VR shooting range where around 30-50 comrads were lined up row after row shooting at targets, what a sight to behold.

I eventually leave VR and decide I am ready to take on the real world battle after I have gone through training and Virtual Reality to make sure I was up to the task, the last thing I wanted was to be dead weight when it came down to a real fire fight.

I decided quickly that I must use my certificates and went to the main complex and spent my certificates on the Galaxy transport (pilot) and the Mesquito (small fighter plane). I ran back outside quickly and headed immediatly to the Vehicle pad and aquired the Galaxy transporter (thing is enormous), and I headed to a warpgate and found a continent a battle that was about to be lost.

Along the way to the battle I stopped at a dropship station and found many eager soldiers waiting for a squad to go into battle. I picked up around 4-6 soldiers and informed them of which outpost we were heading to defend and got there as fast as possible.

Upon incomming to the outpost we saw 2 tanks, 3 mesquito's and around 6-7 enemy soldiers. We had only the soldiers I carried plus around 4-5 more and 1 tank. Then I was flanked by the mesquito's who began shooting me down and so i rushed to the ground as fast as possible and let the troops go, as soon as i started back up into the air (my transport was nearly destroyed) I saw a missle lock on my screen from in front of me, and then I saw a streak of white smoke and a firey missle to lead. We all know what happened next lol...

These are the constant kind of battles I have seen so far since I've logged on for the few hours I've played. This is a very fun game, how long will that fun last? I don't know, Tribes 2 has lasted years, at least it's a good substitute for WoW for now. I can't believe I never looked closer at this game before, and these are just some random screenshots I'm going to add here if I'm able, apparently the printscrn button isn't the screenshot taker on this game lol. Hope you enjoyed my review/story + screenshots.

Nice pics. Send me a username (your in game name would be best) and a PW and i can set you up with a db account so u can put them on the DB server :)

Just so you know....folks on a Galaxy can "drop" out of the flying aircraft like paratroopers by hitting alt-g. Also, you as the pilot can force them to drop so you don;t have to land. We often use this tactic to drop a squad in the middle of a heavily defended base where the defenders are facing OUTward....so we can mess them up pretty good and draw attn from our guys outside attacking.

Hot drops like this are tons of fun.

Dedicated Galaxy pilots are like clerics in EQ....extrememly valuable, but har5d to come by.
