The same shit has happened to me again(see Huge Fucking problem thread). I was just looking on these forums and then windows just restarted on its own. Once again, I see the familiar "Hi fuck, guess what? microsoft and windows have fucked you over once more" message.
Only difference is I could actually boot in safe mode.(after about 4 tries). I rebooted to safe mode then rebooted regularly and it worked. Problem is windows said it was a memory dump and I submitted this retarded error report it asked me about. Does anyone know anything about memory dumping? So far it just sounds like some random shit that can happen anytime until microdick fixes the problem. I was going to uninstall the SP1 pack but then it said some shit about some things not working after I Did it so I just said fuck it dont wanna take any chances.
Maybe by chance it was just some freak error that occured and wont happen again. Or maybe its some problem thats constantly going to fuck me and keep increasing the chance of it happening again and the chance of losing all my data(again). I bet the latter will happen.

I don't know about you but I never had that problem until I installed Planetside. I don't know how PS could affect win XP, but it's the only thing I know I have done since I had this problem happen.

Well for me it couldn't be Planetside because I dont even have it installed on my computer yet. I looked more into memory dumping and it seems to be some error thats happened to me before but I never knew it. My system config for Errors and Restarting or something is set to restart automatically if an error occurs(memory dump). Im betting this was never enabled prior to my puter crashing. Its prolly better to keep it on and allow windows to restart properly rather that turning it off and let shit just build up until you lose everything.

If you installed any new Ram memory lately, remove it and give it a run, I had a whole batch of sticks come in and work for a while then they started to blue screen me to death here..
If you can post the info from the blue screen we can help you a little more..
Like what exception error ( 000000x32A sorta like this )
Sound like bad memory to me though..

I installed a 512 stick about 3 or 4 months ago, had no problems up until now. Actually, the fatal crash I had a few days ago had something to do with my Nvidia drivers because it mentioned a driver file on the blue screen.
Today my puter restarted on its own and presented me with the blue screen for a second then took me back to the options where I can select which method to restart in. Luckily it restarted with no problems though.
Oh and I would tell you what the blue screen said, but the problem is it only shows it to me for like half a second. No time at all to read it.

Ok I got blue screened again today(memory dumped). this time the blue screen didnt go away so this is what it said:
STOP error: 0x0000008e
just hexadecimal shit that has no meaning to me. Funny thing is ive had this new RAM for almost 6 months now and NEVER had a problem until I started playing Planetside...
Oh and this time around I made a memory dump file which im uploading to microsoft right now thru their website. The thing is huge its like 630megs it takes forever to open in word.

Ok, I did a search for you in the microsoft knowledge base for the error that you posted, They say that the Video drivers that you are using are either corrupted or outdated. Try downloading some new drivers from NVidia and give that a shot
www.nvidia.com
also make sure you have the latest service pack for your operating system
This is for XP..
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/default.asp
this is the record I found during my search, It does not list the game planetside but that could be becuse it is so new but seems to be close to what you are experiencing
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B325730
I hope this helps you out and get you gaming again.

Thanx Lebowitze. Good info.
I use XP and have no troubles on 4 puter's with it. I always have the latest Drivers and do the windows updates every month (u really need fast access for this). You would be surprised at how much trouble this solves.
Also, altho it does not sound like your problem, a puter that is restarting for no reason could have a power problem. If u have a crappy powersource consider replacing it. I had this problem on one of my computers where it not only restarted for no reason, it often would not let it restart for quite a while.

I concur
That is so true about the power supply also, I upgraded my roommates PC with a new board,Video Card, ETC but keep-ed the same box and power supply, Had to replace the box because of blue screens and general poor performance.. I think he had a 250watt and ended up getting a 400watt and he has had no problems since
These new boards and video cards do require plenty of juice to run correctly.
So if he upgraded his system without doing the power supply then he needs to look at that also..

Yea those drivers that microsoft has up are not good at all. I started to update the computers here in my office with them , rebooted to find a blank screen. Well with these monitors here we use the new DVI conection (digital) and come to find out the drivers they have up do not support this.. but was in the windows update list..
Let us know if the drivers fix this for you, always good to know how things work out..
