A little possible bad news

My latest Computer Gaming world has it's predicted date of release for WoW as quarter 2 of 2004. If this is true, I am depressed. Was really looking forward to this by the end of this year AFTER learnign alot in the beta.

I guess time will tell.

If we released all the information now, we would have nothing to release over the next several months until the beta :)

Once we get really close to the beta and certainly after it starts there will be a lot of updates and forum communication.

don't read too much into "several"

we don't have a set date for the beta yet, hence it is "several" months away. We are still in the alpha stage and once we are happy with the game and have all the major game features in, we will go to beta. We are getting closer and closer every day, but it is still some time away...

My guess is beta is still planned to begin sometime between August and Sept. If it is like other beta's it will last 2 months or so. There is no way they can have a game in beta for almost a year.

I got in at 2 and (stayed through 3), and that was quite a while actually, but I'm not even sure how long 1 was, but im sure it was hella long... Eve was the same thing, except without all of the bugs SWG has

Those guys have nothikng to do with WoW. They don;t even work in the same office as the WoW dev team. They worked on Diablo....not even Warcraft 3 or frozen throne. DIABLO.

i think the way blizzard handles new games it will be around 2004 3rd or 4th quarter. i will keep playing PS then move to EQ2.

I am really putting all my eggs in one basket (gonna wait for world of warcraft). We MIGHT play EQ2 if WoW is far from release when EQ2 comes out, but i really do not want to get addicted to EQ2 and then have WoW come out and mess me all up :)

WoW beta will be out before EQ2 is retail anyhow....so WoW beta should keep me interested...and I am still thinking WoW goes retail by christmas.

We need to all apply for beta like a zillion times.

anyway, i'm going to try EQ2 either way, but i'm going to apply for WoW beta at least a 100 times (seriously) and i'm going to get in baby. EQ2 will be retail long before WoW will, but thats ok, we won't get addicted, we'll just play it till WoW comes out :)

[edit] WoW will come out christmas when my ex gf decides to not go to utah for school and when i decide not to go to OSU... so never lol. it'll be out by next summer though.

Yer right hama, there are some nice folks in ToW. But there is also alot of retards. The very way the game and teams are oriented on SZ FORCES ToW to have retards. Here are the facts:

There are very few people playing EQ SZ. The people who DO decide to play at this point are....well...often ...undesirable. With the limited number of people playing....ToW is almost forced to take anyone who applies. Anytime you get into a situation like that, you are bound to have some bad apples.

We put up with it for a long time, but we really did not realize how annoying it was until we split. I mean, why play a game...spend hours of your time...to help people who are dicks that you would like to slap IRL? ;p

I don't even know how I played EQ with it, sometimes I would lose connection in the middle of a fight which would piss me off.

Alot of people have a very snobbish opinion of dialup, fact is it works just fine and I rarely have any lag in EQ :p

Theres too much network traffic for the connection to be any good. It was fast but not consistent, and it was impossible to play EQ. Dialup was 100x faster compared to it. I think they restricted the speed of data that wasnt http aswell

Didn't they say EQ2 was not going to have any sort of pvp besides duels? Maybe I was misinformed or something. But to tell you the truth Im not really looking forward to a new EQ with better graphics and a 2 posted at the end. This is just going to be like a HUGE expansion with better graphics. I can wait for WoW. 4 years or more EQ was enough for me. Gray I'll put all my eggs in one basket also. WoW will be great. Dont let these guys try to bring a brother down :cool:
