I have a gimp modem called Alcatel SpeedTouch(tm) USB ADSL RFC1483

Let me explain the gimp modem to you. It connects to the computer in the USB thing(Duh) and theres a gay splitter type thing on the modem cable. the splitter is like this little boxy thing where you plug the PHONE line in and then you plug the PHone line in a nearby phone jack.

Ive looked around but I cant find any routers to share the connection. Everything ive found has this gay cable that you have to have to share the connection(I dunno the name of the cable) and like I said I have a phone line running from the modem

Another problem: One computer is upstairs(mine) and the other is downstairs... SO the computer downstairs would have to recieve it wirelessly. Problem with that is the PC downstairs is old and gimp and I dunno if it will recieve the connection(its win 98) and it does alot of other weird shit too..

so like I do on PS:

You could just buy a network card and let any other computer connect through yours. Downside to this method is that your system always needs to be on if other computers want to get online. I don't know of any routers that you can put between your usb modem and your puter.

Yeah USB kinda limits what u can do. Here is what I would do tho:

Get one of these:

And 2 of these:

Basically it would go fromt he wall...to your modem...to your base station (the first link) to your network cards (the second link). Microsfot also has a wired base stationa nd wired netwrok cards which are alot cheaper, but I am not sure if u can wire them or not. Also there are some different network cards, but if yer gonna build a network and use windows XP, I would recomend using the Microsoft base station and network cards cause it installs super easy on Windows XP.

Feel free to go to best buy or Comp USA and check it out in person...but I would not buy it there. Check Pricewatch.com. Hope this helps bro
