I was looking around warcry, and I see Warhammer Online. The first thought that strikes me, is: Warhammer is a game about kicking eachothers ass (or thats my impression atleast), so natually I think the online version will contain "teh l33t" pvp.

Oh god I was wrong.

PVP combat exists but is limited by a player's career choice. Some paths will lead you into PVP encounters. But, it's not an open arena and we're very conscious of how frustrating random PK'ing is. That’s why only some high-level careers are mutually antagonistic, for example if you choose to become a Bounty Hunter you will become PvP to Outlaws and vice versa. While there is a PvP element it is quite strictly controlled. When you get into it and when you're at risk you'll be warned in the game. We're very aware of the problems involved and are trying to make sure they won't happen with WHO.

The first big online game, Ultima Online, put my hopes up that this genre would really kick ass. Instead, everytime I read about a new game, I get an urge to poke a red hot nail into my eye, while letting 2342 snakes chew at my genitals as a big ford explorer lands on me, crushing my bones to ashers, then carefully urinated on by a beaver.
