Me and mindgames I tried a new build that i kinda like. Look at it and let us know what to do better please.

My best game yet! And i still suck :( But i won this one!~ was a crazy game that i thought i lost for sure...but somehow won! :)

I watched the replay and I noticed a few things that stuck out for Gray vs Mindgames;

Gray - After you got about 3 grunts you had around 400-500 gold, you need to upgrade town hall asap (since the 300 gold wont set you back that much). I also noticed that you didnt get casters (which is usually what people get... though it does set them back over 1000 gold just to tech it + time). I suggest getting the silo for next game and getting 1-2 kudo beast as they get the armor/weapon benefit and give all your units a higher attack with wardrums (or devour enemy units). Otherwise your stratagy was pretty sound and all your units benefited from your teching, also a good hero selection as aura/heals made up for the lack of shammy/doc power.

Mindgames- Overall your build order was good at the beginning but while you were creeping you didn't immediately go for the mine beside your base (you went for some creeps with 2 lvl 5 Maulers and a lvl 5 Caster and lost all your foots :P ). At about the half way point when you were attacked by Gray you must have waypointed your casters while creeping so you had 1 priest/2 casters/ 1 foot standing around on the other side of the map (happens to me sometimes to :P). As a note, always check one of your opponents units to see what kind of teching they have done, if grays melee have 2nd teir weapons/armor then your units should have atleast that much if not 3rd teir (this could have changed the outcome of the first and last battles since your foots and knights were still using 1st teir equipment and while he had 3rd teir). Also make sure that if you get casters tech them fully (priests +5 armor spell is key to alot of games and makes a huge difference if not dispelled and slow or polymorph can devistate most armies) Also get atleast 2 heros every game (any second hero will be a big help) and all go well with Archmage. Also in the last fight target his ranged with your air next time as he would have been owned without the zerkers.

Not bad overall, i definately want to have you guys a few games :D (im not as good as Saradin/Once so you wont get owned)

Lol i checked out that close game, kept me on the edge of my seat. Definately an amazing comeback and your tech saved you in that game as well (you had 3rd teir armor way before that guy had 2nd teir). You had alot of gold (2000-3000) so you should have built another totem for more cows but its easy to say that you got lucky since he could have rushed you after you got crushed by his army. A few things made him weaker overall though (not only did he mine 3000 gold less than you but he put more into ranged than melee so he had no tanks when going after your base).

I saw what u were talkin about with the air being sneaky ;p Altho u can see i still tried like hell ot make spear throwers, I had no chance with u culling 3 gold mines and having owned my barracks plus having 3 dragon makers. I really dunno what I could do in that game different...those dragons are rough...perhaps if i had some towers but the dragons own the buildings fast too. I think if i did not get stuck in the first fight too it would not have hurt me so bad. I just got smoked tho :p Was fun.

For those of u who don;t know what i am talkin about, Calrenkarn and i went at it. He squashed me :P

Ya i noticed a few thinks in that game for sure:

- Always get atleast 2 barracks (lossing your only spear producer really hit hard)
- You need to work on speed alittle, so far this is our time differences....

1) 2nd mine - 1 min after me
2) 2nd teir Townhall - 2 min after me
3) 3rd teir Townhall - 2-3 min after me

- Try keeping your main party moving at all times.. this can be tricky especially when you have alot of things to do in your town but the more creeps you get before having a fight with your opponent the stronger your heros will be. Macros help with this alot (though i never use them, just cant get the hang of it :P).

- Always spend your gold on anything (units/heros/upgrades). The less you have, the more you know that your prepared.

The time differences made a large enough gap for me to tech chims up fast and hit you base before you could mass enough defence. Scouting is a good way to prevent this but I cannot stress enough that if you dont get casters (docs/shammies) you need Beast silos as Bat riders are the best AA for Orcs (as they can kill air units with self destruct) and kudos for overall attacking. If you had Bats I may not have won or would be forced to switch tactics on the fly. Otherwise i made a few large errors as well (the biggest was attacking your second hero with my chims instead of going for your houses as well as standing around for periods of time). Oh well, GG Gray :D

That was a pretty good game for ya gray, alot of corrections made and you rushed instead of the usual :). Largest mistakes were made by Dan overall (sorry dan) as you shouldnt have made wyverns against an orc opponent (they have light armor so Head hunters just clobber them). Shammies/docs would have worked perfectly but by the time gray attacked his forces were around 60/70 and yours were 40/50. Also UPGRADE YOUR UNITS!!, expecially against orcs :P. Unless your UD always upgrade your tanks or you will get overrun... Also grunts arn't weak against head hunters anymore, there only weak against magic attacks (ie shammies/docs/crows/priests/heros/ect..).

Ok got another one where we actually lost, but it was a good game and dan/brian wanted to see it so here it is:

3 v 3 with Dan, Brian and me versus some gimps who got lucky :p

We played another 3 v after that and so owned the guys we played, I am not gonna bother putting it up unless brian or dan needs to see it.
