Grunts suck vs UD. On some maps when a UD rush is imminent, you might want to throw down a rax just to get some protection until you can go flyers or berserkers, whichever you prefer.

An example of this would be on turtle rock if UD spawns right next to you. You should always scout the position next to you with your first or second peon that is going to wood. If he is next to you, it is probably a good idea to put down a barracks just in case.
