Well, I suppose one bonus of sitting on our ass waiting around for WoW beta is we have nothing else to do but RL stuff (alot to be said for that sometimes :p) and the website! With input from DBers, Meter and Rabdallas have created a nexus for gaming information at darkenbane.com (Meter does content/php and Rabby does graphic art/integration) that goes beyond tools for just our members! As such, I figured I would go over the benefits of the site for members and non members alike and let you know how we are doin' statistically pre-WoW.
Non-Members presently enjoy the most up to date headlines taken from the best gaming news sites with the most variety. These sites were selected because of their devotion to certain areas of gaming which will give the DB.com visitor an awesome range of gaming news. Since many DBers play a variety of different games, this allows everyone to keep up to date on anything new involving our hobby in one stop! Additionally, non-members have the ability to peruse our message boards (and even post if they register) to engage in interactive conversations with other gamers. We presently have specialized boards for Planetside, EQ 1 and 2, World of Warcraft, General Games (where everyone talks about any games not specific to the previous three), Screenshots (where any member screenshots are automatically posted for discussion) and General Public (where everything else is discussed). Addionally, our message boards support the uploading of pictures from your hard drive and replays from War3.
In addition to the above, Members enjoy the ability to upload pictures/screenshots directly to our website and. if game related, have them displayed for a period of time on the front page (this will happen alot more when WoW comes out). Members also have access to our private boards where detailed information about the games we are playing are presented for member use (leveling spots, how to info, trade skills ect) as well as guild organization information. Teamspeak is another big perk for members (and will be required of all WoW members) which is a voice communication software allowing us to speak with each other online with phone quality. Members for WoW will also be assured of great organization DB has shown in it's previous games to make the game as fun as possible for those who enjoy accomplishing goals as a group as we utilize tools such as DKP (for loot distrobution), TS and the website.
