One thing about it is DB has found themselves on the top of the food chain. When we kill someone and they threaten to kill us forever....we giggle and ask them to give us a tell when they make it back up to level 6 :D

its not broken at all.. AA and expansions after velious broke PvP in EQ..

pre velious i had/have 0 complaints. Exping is only gay thing in the game..

I still think war3 is fun so that is my alternate atm. I also don't want to be burnt out on an mmorpg when WoW does roll around. If i get bored of my current game I will come join you but I would have a hard time returning to a game that wasn't built for pvp, regardless of ruleset.

You proved that playtime gives you fame. Im not saying that you're not a good pvper. Infact i don't doubt that you're an excellent pvper.

What im saying, is that being a good pvper is not all that. DB is full of good pvpers incfact. DB is not full off allround gamers. I've seen so many people that got respect as pvpers, because they built their base easily (SZ? yea, the easiest of the pvp servers).

What im saying is, that this server does not ONLY take pvp skill. It also takes IQ (obvious proof is that it ran for 5 days and only 20 people reached 10+ for longer than a few hours). Were talking a server where FoH was the first guild made.

It's simple. If you can't/won't prove that you can play on Discord, I simply can't see where you prove your skills. Discord is the only real chance to prove you're not only a good pvper, you also have brains.

(Fine, you can cast TEH ICE COMET, but if you can't lvl above 5 without being slain by a zombie, plz, don't ever call yourself hardcore.)

No I proved on SZ that I could take a crew and own anything. That is what I set out to do and that is what I accomplished.

Held #1 multiple times in pvp points
Named strongest core guild by EQVault on SZ

I could go on w/ lists of accomplishments but only my gear, being first neutral wiz to 60 and epiced was related to my playtime.

The game you are playing is still and will always be based on playtime, not skill. So while I agree that it is a more hardcore server, you will have to form a better argument or better define what you mean by hardcore. Hardcore to me was picking a neutral dark elf and leveling in the forest of 300+ kos the first night without dying. Hardcore is the fact that I could take 10 people from my old crew and own the server you are on. Unfortunately it would take quite a bit of playtime that I am not willing to devote to a game I am just not that interested in anymore.

I'll probably drop by and play casually until they fix War3 but really the only mmorpg I am looking forward to is WoW, and I'd rather not be burnt out from playing when that rolls around.

I take back my retard comment and I agree, there really is nothing else worth playing. So kill time as you will ~

My post was not in any way meant to undermine you're accomplisments. As I said, I don't need SZ to know you're a good pvper, I'm aware of that.

Discord is a server for complete players. You can't survive if you're only a pvp expert, and you can't survive if you're only a pve expert. Its pretty simple, the good players make it far. People who survived on time ingame are having a lot of trouble coping, and the people on top are not the ones online 24/7.

And to the eternal troll Toad, yes faction based servers ARE easier.

#1 Discord is a joke :( I thought about re-activating an account when I heard a new PvP server was in the works... but the ruleset is dumb and it's only a temporary server. And its Everquest for crying out loud :p

#2 You can't really prove your PvP prowess or lack-of with a level 8 character. Maybe if you all had a chance to get level 50, then have 1 vs 1's against other level 50's with the danger of being turned back to a n00b then you can say that it requires skill to survive.

#3 The super majority of the players that are/were known in SZ played wizards, including Saradin :D Mezmoriah, Kirban, Grunter, Immorality... I could go on. So Saradin is right, EQ was unbalanced and your class + gear determined how good you were in PvP. Being smart (aka having skills) helps, but not as much as you think. Let's hope WoW and Ultima X add more skills into PvP/duels :cool:
