America is so obsessed with censorship and security. The issue is tiresome already.

Yeah, but if she did that in Saudi Arabia the people would have stampeeded each other killing 200 or so then they woulda' stoned her to death. So i suppose we are middle of the road in that catagory ;p

just goes to show you how out of touch corporate music is with what real people listen to as opposed to their legions of 8 - 13 year old fans.

The thing I do not understand...

Why is it legal for a woman to be topless in any location a man can be topless? Yet it is against FCC regulations for television programming. Isn't that discrimination?

Because Human Beings are stupid by nature. Very few can stick there heads above the muck of idiocy and see how stupid many of our laws, ethics and so called morals are.

Ask yourself this. Are you truly free? Well of course not, I mean there MUST be some laws to keep society from falling into Chaos. But shouldn't the ONLY LAWS exist to protect one member of society from another? To protect a citizen's right to pursue happiness without worrying about becoming a victim?

If this was the case, the only laws on the books would be those that had a clear cut VICTIM. Like murder, robbery, battery ect. Not stupid shit like you cannot buy alcohol on Sundays and you cannot say "shit" on TV. Jesus fucking CHRIST....if some religious nut job does not want their kid to hear the word "shit" then put them in a fucking closet!

omg omg omg!

Hmm, I think it depends where you go when it comes to that topless issue.

I think you are all missing the point about having a law against nudity.

how would you like it if fat people started wanting to show their shit off???
yah, get my point?

My favorite stupid law(s)....

In Florida you have to wear a helmet to ride a bike if you are under 16, you also have to wear a seatbelt to ride or drive a car. But you can fly down the interstate at 70 on a croch rocket with no helmet and thats perfectly fine..

Another strange thing you guys have is that you have to be 21 drink/buy alcohol but can drive a car at 16. It is completely the other way around here, you have to be 16 to drink/buy alcohol and 18 to drive a car.

I could care less. In fact it would give us stuff to giggle about and we would be more likely to forget our true worries and won't kill 20 people with a bus.

Imagine this sceneraio...

Some guy is all stressed out cause his wife told him to fuck off and took his/her kid away from him and makes him pay like 75% of his salary in alamony. He get's a gun and is on his way over to her house to kill her, the kid and all the neighbors when he sees this big pudge walking down the street naked. He cracks a smile....giggles a little....then realizes what he was gonna do was kinda silly compared to that :)

Any law that ecists without a clear cut victim should be stricken from the books. When the government becomes you momma and starts telling whats good for youa nd what's bad for you, yer just fucked.

1. Drug use - No victim
2. Buying alcohol on sunday's - No victim
3. Seatbelt law - no victim
4. Helmit laws - no victim
5. Prostitution - No victim
6. Gambling - No victim

On and on. Minors should be exempted from this, however. People have proven they are to stupid to rbing up their own kids so the state NEEDS to make laws for them telling them what's right and what's wrong as best they can.

I am thinking revolution baby!

The law in the US that baffles me the most is that you can buy a gun before you can buy a beer. There are soldiers fighting the war in Iraq that will be unable to buy even a pack of cigarets for the next few years =).

FCC Chairman Michael Powell said yesterday in an offical statement, "Like millions of Americans, my family and I gathered around the television for a celebration. Instead, that celebration was tainted by a classless, crass and deplorable stunt. Our nation's children, parents and citizens deserve better."

WOW!
All That for .05674532 seconds of barely visable Janet Jackson titty.
Makes me wonder what Mr. Michael Powell would think of this:

I like how it has taken us 10 months after we invaded Iraq to finally investigate if our intelligence on the WMDs was correct...

And then it only takes 2 hours after a nipple appears on TV to start an investigation.

WTF

Rules and regulations are the very foundation of civilization -- Without them we'd be wallowing in depravity.

Here are examples of some very important laws without which the world as we know it would surely cease to exist:

=====
In Alabama, it is illegal for a driver to be blindfolded while operating a vehicle.

In Connecticut, You can be stopped by the police for biking over 65 miles per hour.

It is unlawful to lend your vacuum cleaner to your next-door neighbor in Denver.

In Woodstock, NY it is illegal to walk your bear on the street without a leash.

In Norfolk, Virginia, a woman can't go out without wearing a corset.

In Merryville, Missouri, women are prohibited from wearing corsets because "the privilege of admiring the curvaceous, unencumbered body of a young woman should not be denied to the normal, red-blooded American male."

Connecticut has a lot of ordinances about walking: A law in Northfield forbids eating while walking along the streets. In Hartford, you aren't allowed to cross the street walking on your hands. And in Devon it's unlawful to walk backwards after sunset.

In Florida, women may be fined for falling asleep under a hair dryer, as can the salon owner.

No man is allowed to make love to his wife with the smell of garlic, onions, or sardines on his breath in Alexandria, Minnesota. If his wife so requests, law mandates that he must brush his teeth.

In Florida, a special law prohibits unmarried women from parachuting on Sunday or she shall risk arrest, fine, and/or jailing.

In New York, a fine of $25 can be levied for flirting. This old law specifically prohibits men from turning around on any city street and looking "at a woman in that way." A second conviction for a crime of this magnitude calls for the violating male to be forced to wear a "pair of horse-blinders" wherever and whenever he goes outside for a stroll.

An ordinance in Newcastle, Wyoming, specifically bans couples from having sex while standing inside a store's walk-in-meat freezer!

Men may not be seen publicly in any kind of strapless gown in Florida.
=====

There's a lot more but I'll just mention a last one as I feel it may be of importance to Gray and Lesa:

In Florida, any form of sexual contact other than missionary position is a misdomeanor. (This is still a law. There have been several cases of people being brought up on these charges in the past 5 years alone. If the police enter a home with a warrent for some other crime and catch the 'culprits' in action, they can, and are, brought up on those charges.)
