Greetings all,
As most folks involved know, we have completed our first roster "cuts" where several recruits were removed after failing to meet a rather easy requirement of them which tested their ability to be DB. This roster cut was planned and did coincide with the end of beta sign ups which happened on Feb. 4th. Fair warning to members: Our next roster cut will occur during beta and will encompass everyone on the roster as we sort through who is serious about WoW and who is not. Additionally, per the plan, we have moved on to our next evolution of guild formation for WoW adding a Recruits Board where new applications will be posted and reviewed. We will continue to entertain new applications through the beta and even well into release as we fill the inevitable holes in the roster as we clean house. Our end goal is a group of players who take the game seriously, play quite a bit and love to kill folks :D
Now speaking of the beta, this writer has some assumptions based on past Blizzard betas, specifically WC3FZ. The first phase of beta was mailed to 10000 testers 10 days after the end of the sign ups. The test began basically whenever they received their acceptances (no delay in beta start from when they accepted the folks). The second phase began receiving their acceptances perhaps a week or two after the first group and also were able to play right when they were accepted. If they (Bliz) are consistant, the first group of folks should be getting their acceptances between Febuary 14th and 17th and testing the game shortly thereafter. Also, a CSR at Blizzard when asked about the beta length said "most betas run 3 to 4 months and we expect WOW to be at least that". As such, I am gonna tentatively put the WoW release at June 15ish. If you disagree with me you are stupid and wrong as everyone knows I am always right!
Ok, what the hell are folks doin now? Well some folks were clowning around on that EQ Guildwars Emu until the 17year old kid who was running the server got mad at Hama and crew because she would not let him hump her leg :( Two entertaining threads about this can be viewed here (http://forums.darkenbane.com/showthread.php?t=5159) and here (http://forums.darkenbane.com/showthread.php?t=5145). Others are playing EQ on Legends with the Neutrals there (talk to Mindgames on our boards about this crew) or with the Neutrals on Sullon Zek as ToW reformed (talk to Envizionz aka Inspecta) and/or the Neutral Alliance (talk to Zeruel). Mostly, however, folks are bored and anticipating WoW. Hope they don't let us down.
