Meter has advised me that our days of free web hosting have drawn to an end as our bandwidth requirements increase. Worse, we expect considerably more traffic once World of Warcraft begins and DBers begins their usual bludgeoning of our foes. After considerable contemplation, we have decided to move the Darkenbane website to a new server which will be based in Miami, Fl. We will have our own server (thus no sharing computers with other websites) and a direct connection to an internet backbone. The downside to all of this is it will cost us money and there will be some slowdowns/downtime for the site whilst we make the move. The upside is we should see some speed consistency/increase and will have our independence.
All three of our domains will be on this server (website, forums and Teamspeak) and will be under the complete and total control of the guild without any outsider interference. It is hoped that we can transfer the accounts from our current Teamspeak server to the new one, but if not, we will make it as easy as possible to set up your new Teamspeak account.
Details will, as always, be posted on the forums as well as possible updates in the news given they are important enough. One thing is certain: It’s good we are getting this out of the way before WoW goes live!
Speaking of the wait for World of Warcraft, many of the guys are playing Knight Online Beta and seem to be enjoying it quite well. Give a holler in the general games forum or hop into their teamspeak channel if u want to join in and have some fun testing that game
