As many folks know, we have been tossing around the the decision of which game we plan to play. Mostly, we had been leaning towards WoW for a variety of reasons not the least of which is theie history with doing well in PvP. As the days have drawn on, we have tossed each game around still trying to make the final decision. Additionally, we have been in contact with folks from both Sony and Blizzard in an effort to see who we will have a better relationship with down the road. Recently my communication with Sony Online Entertainment (the EQ2 devs) was rather positive and I got permission to post part of their missive and the reason we have finally made the decision to play EQ2 instead of WoW as an organized guild.

Hello David,
We have finalized the number of 20 keys for your guild in the first phase of Beta. These will be sent out to you to be given out at your discretion for the duration. As this information is expected to be released to the public, it has been approved for you to publically announce your participation in the beta for EQ2. We as yet do not have a firm date on it beginning, but will advise when said date becomes known.
As before, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email or call me.
Regards,

Although the letters from Blizzard were polite, they obviously had/have no intention on asking for our aid in balancing PvP for WoW. Here is the final missive received from Blizzard.

Hello David,
Thanks for writing back. I do not have new information to share on the future
beta, but I am glad that you and your group are still excited to play. There is
no pre-selection list I can out you on, and I cannot even guarantee that, if one
should become available, that I would be in a postion such that I could place
you on it. However, I admire your polite persistance, and will keep you in mind
if a special development comes along.
Sincerily,
