Is this worth a try ?

Well i played into beta and I had a lot of frustration playing with a 300+ ping all the time , so are the server more stable now and is it still worth paying 12$ for it ?

opinion varies, In my opinion no, and when i played on one of the demo accnts it also wasnt worth it, Id say play anarchy online ;-)

Do not play Planetside. The game was AWESOME for a long time - when we had a good 20 DBers playing. It was still a lot of fun and if you had asked one month ago I'd probably say to get on and squad up with us. I was one of the last DBers to have an active account and I just canceled yesterday. Game was tons of fun, pretty much ruined by the makers. So much potential, didn't use any of it. Play something else as Planetside has run its course for the 2nd time - most likely its last time.
