Darkenbane plans on joining competition via www.caleague.com as Cal Open central. If you are interested in joining the roster, or at least helping DB train, get a wonid, download steam, join TS and talk to Sieges. This is a limited time thing, because once DB starts living up to its name in the game, everyone will want to join. Also, we are JUST starting out, so most people are just now learning the basics of 5v5 scrimmage and competition play, so now would be a really good time to start. Also, WoW is still a few months before release so you might as well play and see if you like the subculture if your not a beta tester.

For those of you new to CAL / eSports scene, it works like this.

CPL (CyberathleteProfessionalLeague)
___________________________________
These are the big dog LAN tourneys, usually in Texas,
where people win lotsa scrilla, and the competition is beyond fierce.
Mostly Cal-I players.

The top US team is, http://www.team3d.net
Managers of CAL I teams alone make enough money to live comfortably.

Cal Premier
____________
Competition here is close to that of Cal I, those who make playoffs,
make it to Cal I.

Cal Main
____________
Not many people, teams especially, make it past Cal M.
Cal M are veterans of the game, and are very experienced.
Cal M winners and some playoff finalists make it to Cal P.

Cal Intermediate
____________
Cal IM are the Cal O guys and Cal M reformed players who are on the brink of being elite.
They are good enough to beat Cal O guys, but still trying to move up the ladder.

Cal Open
____________
Lowest level of official internet competition, any legit team qualifies for Cal O, it has the largest amount of competitors, and the biggest range of skills.

<--- DB is here ;p

Casual Public
____________
Noobs that squat and spray a clip, and think they are good at CS cause they have top score on their team in a random public game.

I'll come train with you guys when I can, but time zone kinda fucks me up in playing properly. I've been playing since Beta 1, so no doubt there are some tricks I can teach you guys.

What time zone do you live in Zdlr? Any tips or strategys you can show us would be greatly appreciated. Like Nemesis said, we are starting to learn the basics of 5v5 competition, so we are not the greatest.

Scratch that I already knew you lived in Australia, wasn't thinking.

Ive talked to many people about our team, and our lack there of of skill (aka aim) And most of them encouraged me to work on strats, and pretty much skill will come in time. "Even a noob can kill someone if you put the in the right spot" We need to LEARN the maps and scrim TONS and we WILL OWN! WOOOOOT GOGO DARKENBANE!

You've also just got to work out how each of you prefer to play before strats. I work with a real rush, spray and pray attitude, others prefer mega stealth. Both are good tactics, but theres no use making someone camp in your tactics who is a great rusher and can secure a point well.

Once again, comes down to experience and learning how each other plays. Just remember, if you are a long way from your target, tap your mouse button, if any of you guys spray from a distance I will be a very angry soccer mom.

Hey, my brother and I are gonna try playing with you guys. I'm decent but he's better and he just finished a Cal-O season and went 5-3 cause his team sucks. He was team's main rifleman and awper, and he can help with some strats and spam spots for maps.

Awesome, hook up with the crew in TS, Daef or Sieges can give you access, and since I'm not around, another strat caller would be great, not to mention another scope. We also have a private board, so if your for real, Siege will give u access there as well.

Nice to see new faces! Were making great progress but have a long way to go before we are ready. Practicing every day is a must. We should decide on a time and day i suggest at LEAST 5 days a week for practice. Random times and everything is ok but sometimes i end up hanging out for hours doing nothing just trying to find enough to play with me. I think we should start by posting our scheduals and sieges can pick us some times/days. My schedual as of right now is wide open. I just finished my summer class and wont be doing much for the next 3 weeks, then i start school again which will be from about 9am-2pm central weekdays. I usually dont have much going on weekends besides yardwork, and spending time with my girlfriend. As for yardwork, i can do that whenever, but i have to tell you the truth, my and my girlfriend are kinda having trouble right now so, she is my #1 priority and if she asks me to do something with her i wont hesitate to accept. Sorry if this conflicts with our practice but i usually on get with her once a week so i dont think it will be a problem. Also if its very important, i may change this rule ^_^
