What does it take to run WoW, Doom3 ect?

I have an Athlon 1400, 1gb ram and a GeForce4 Verto 128mb gfx card. Do I need to upgrade to play WoW or Doom3?

athlon 1400 might be a bit too slow. i run about the same setup, but with the athlon XP 2000, and its still kinda choppy when it gets crazy. thats only doom3 though, no wow for me :(

That setup will run WoW fine. I'm in beta running an AMD XP 1700 (1.4 Ghz), 1gig SD RAM, Geforce 3 ti 500 64MB. I'm not sure of frame rates, but its quite smooth with minimal slow down.

As for doom3, thats another story, but its a million times more complex than WoW heh. Doom3 runs at about 10FPS with everything on low, its not extremely jerky however, just a constant 10fps.

For doom 3 im using a 2.0 Ghz, 786 DDR Ram w/ Geforce 3 mx something sometihng. Its on lowest settings (havent tryed others yet) and sometimes it gets jerky but nothing bad.

Marqus you will have no problem running wow with that setup. Doom 3 should not be a problem either, you will have to tweak it some though (there was a thread about this earlier).

cool beans, I wont have to shell out another grand to play wow/doom3 I guess!
