Incorrect. I am, in fact, a member of the development team. My boss is John Blakely, not the PR department. I was hired to speak on behalf of the team, and that's what I do when I post. Believe me, if I ever said something that didn't speak for the team, my boss would make sure I corrected it.
We announced at the fansite event that we currently have no plans to implement PvP in EverQuest II. I didn't make that up; it's what was decided by our team. There are currently no resources being devoted to any kind of PvP system, and no plans to change that stance after launch.
Could it happen? Sure, we can change our minds about any element of game design at any time, and I can only ever report our current plans, not what might happen in the future. But I want to make clear that there are currently no plans to add any kind of PvP to EverQuest II. Please don't buy the game based on the idea that PvP will be added, because that isn't what we have planned.
And We have no dueling, no arenas, and no PvP of any sort in the current plans for the game.
Please stop posting new threads about the philosophies of why you like or dislike PvP. You aren't going to convince anyone who has the opposing view, no matter how well-spoken your argument. If you wish to try, there are plenty of other websites out there that would be happy to host such debates. Yeaa.......... gg n00bs

If that is the case..I'll just use my eq2 as a coaster...to rest my gatorade bottle on.
Azz/Dizz...
I see it as suicide though for the game..with wow coming out..Who would wanna play eq2?
I'll still play it till wow comes out since there isnt anything else around..

lol, morons, its all built on good vs evil. dont believe things u read when there is NO prof of it what so ever.
Im willing to bet 100$ saying that eq2 WILL have pvp at some point, im not saying that they will have it at release but they will have it, if they wont make one they will simply lose money, because the player base that wants pvp in a mmorpg is huge compared to what it used to be
if i loose i will wire transfer the money to the winner. and if i win and i will, ill pm you my acc # so u can pay me :D
if i told you all that there was notthin called eq2, its all bullshit would u believe it?

They might....... but why spend the time grinding a char up to a good lvl on a blue server, then when they release a pvp server have to reroll and grind again. I don't wanna play on SoE's shitty treadmill system that is designed to take the most amount of money from players........ Have a cool new first name? Go ahead and change it! It only costs 50$ to change your name! Yeaa......... sonys development needs to reroll irl prz

www.eqii.com is not a sony owned site bub, that makes it hearsay.
Now lets get some common sense on this one...
Alright, now if you go to the EQ 2 boards... Hosted by sony... on the sony website (you know, the company thats actually making the game? not some Nerd Overlord (http://maddox.xmission.com/anime_nerd.html) ? )
Now look at the PVP board.... Hmmm That would suggest, that at the very least, sony has its ears open, now , i can imagine that, now also note that hosting a large website costs money, why waste the money making a board you wont even pay attention to... Not just not pay attention to for a couple months, ... Ever Doesnt make sense does it?

Hear him? He works for John Blakely ..... no PvP ftl. They probably will release a PvP server ..... but like 3 months after the game is out... then it will be too late.
