i still think it looks rathr naked and needs background, scanner slapped it around a little bit, but not enough for me to claim any messups due to the scanner, any feedback is appreciated so i can improve. if anyone wants to see a full sized copy then send me a PM.

Not bad, I really like the details, but you should consider using something else besides pastels (assuming thats what you used) since pastels are really hard to bring out detail unless you're working on like a 5 foot work surface.
But let me know the process involved. And what other stuff do you do?

As I've mentioned to you already snak, I'm not sure pastel crayons were the median to choose for this subject. Because they create such a soft effect, you lose the texture of the metal armor. As skcal mentioned, that median is hard to use on such a small scale - however, if you were to, perhaps, do a bust drawing of this same subject, then you might be able to use the pastels in a more efective way --> there would be more room for detailed shadow and highlights.
Just something to consider for a future project. :)

i recently finished the entire thing, including a background that i feel makes the pastels work for the picture. The problem is that the scanenr tends to lighten it a lot, which is why i never posted anything before this because it fucks over my pencil sketches badly. What i did on this was just colored after detailing the certain parts i wanted detailed with an inking pen and then finished with pastels. As for what else i do, i dabble in a little bit of everything as a hobby, not particularly good though so i just keep it there as a side thing, once i get a picture of it i will post a picture of a very badass mask i made.
