Well ive wanted a LCD for some time now. But ive heard alot of bad and good things about them.
So my question is, would a LCD make a good gaming screen? if yes, what should i pick? anything to look out for?
Ive been reading forums and reviews, but i still have no idea what screen i should pick.
So if anyone know anything about this, please guide me in picking a good LCD. Only thing i want is that its 19" or higher
No LCD is good for gaming really, but it depends on what you're really playing. Since I'm assuming your going to play mostly MMORPG, not FPS, an LCD shouldnt really effect you that much. I dont really have an opinion on a particular model, but we generally use Hyundai LCD's here at work that have proved reliable and good quality.

When your buying an LCD you need to check their response times. The faster the response time the better they are:
Response time is basically the amount of time it takes for a liquid crystal cell to go from active (black) to inactive (white) and back to active (black) again. It is measured in milliseconds or (ms). Lower numbers mean faster transitions (eg. 16 ms is faster than 25 ms.) and therefore less visible image artifacts.
Other things you need to think about are:
* Most LCD screens only run at 1280x1024 max
* Their contrast ratio (higher numbers is better)

I used to hear bad things about them for gaming too and I always said I would never use one, but after I saw my friends I didn't really see much of a difference in performance. I don't think it would really hold you down overall unless you like high resolutions cuz like meter said, they usually don't go to high reso's unless you pay a fortune.

i'll admit my lcd makes snipeing with a rifle in cs a little(not mutch) more dificult, but it saves my eyes. you can play fo days strait with a lcd screen and theres no glare to hurt ya
