OK first off i need to get across that i'm limited to sites that accept paypal...their shop sites have better prices than any others i've found anyways. Second the vehical is a small cab truck...and my pre-cut speaker holes in the lower dash are 4" diameter i COULD in theory cut out bigger holes however i wouldnt want to further weaken the paper thin plastic :P
Now on to the speakers...Infinity Kappa (http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/591)
I'm pretty solid on those because of the price and quality
Now for a head unit/cd player i'm torn...mostly because of lack of knowledge This is what i'm leaning towards (http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/1802) however I'm not sure if the "50 watt"'s noted is some sort of trick like that MAX power is 50 watts however i'll only get a percent of that... Also i've never heard of the brand Blaupunkt.....I really like the price of This one (http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/1802) but i dont want anything crappy....While reading through several descriptions i came to the conclusion "MOSFET" as a prefix to the wattage was a good thing...so if anyone can explain this to me and the whole "max" wattage vs. "RMS" wattage I'd appreciate it and any suggestions if you have them
Now for the Amp I live in detroit so I need something i can bolt to the bottom of the cab under my seats with headless screwes that require a special tool to remove/install (i've got that part taken care of) so size is deffinently an issue here.. i'll measure tommorow and find the max dimensions possible. I like this one (http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/2395)..dont know if i can bolt it tho AND dont know much about the subject and need to know what feature to look for that ables me to regulate how much wattage goes to each sub so i dont blow them..
Subs....Now this is a tricky subject because of size...what will probably happen with these is i'll order some without a box from the ikesound site and then have a custom box build/build my own or get some of those bazooka tubes because of their size...however i have a question about those as well...What does the "Non-amplified" feature on the link mean?... (http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/496) It may be a stupid question.....but i want to know if it means the ones that say "amplified" mean they dont need an amp at all and they provide the wattage alone or what.....i'd GUESS that the non-amplified ones require an amp and the amplified ones need no amp and just plug into the head unit but i'd like to take the guess work out of blowing money :)
Some side notes...i dont listen to alot of rap..some...but mostly rock and "emo" i guess people call it ...Taking back sunday, Story of the year ect...and alot of deftones/korn style music
Money ....i dont want to spend more than 500$ish on the whole project but i have a job so ....you know...
Any advice...suggestions would be appreciated...thanks
