They all can be good if played right, but a warlock/rogue is probably a better pvp class then a mage/warrior.

Warlock can be an awesome class if you can play him and make a good template.

warlock is fun, though pvpwise it was confusing to me for a while...you get more spells than any other class + a pet...its very strong, just a little overwhelming the first few times i pvped

from my understanding the infernal and doom gaurd are both very badass pets to use in pvp after you fear someone, that you can summon them down, cast your control spell and then they will pretty much fuck anyone into little tiny pieces? Though i'll be honest, iv heard the doom gaurd looks like a dread lord, thats pretty much the only part that interests me, anyone have pictures of the pets?

ive heard contrary of those 2 pets. i like the idea behind the infernal, to some extent...but i read that the infernal was a poor substitute for the felhunters counterspell/dispel/detect stealth or the succubus mez. The idea that an infernal is dangerous to the summoner is alright, but at least make it really dangerous :\
granted, i have yet to use either of these spells yet.

and after 42 levels of flip flopping and indesicion, this is the template im going for:
http://wowvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Templates.Detail&id=14472

dark pact is really vital for a stamina build, and curse of exaustion, nightfall, fel concentration, and even siphon life are very useful in pvp situations. i also teched to get shadowburn simply for some occasional punch burst dps...mez then soul fire + death coil + shadowburn is some burst dmg that rivals a mage. especially good for finishing off pallys; try to catch them before they can shield.

Iv heard, that the infernal and doomgaurd are unstoppable killing machines in PVE i havnt heard anything about it for PVP though.

even if they are, you can control them for a max like 10 minutes, if you are lucky. then you have to summon another and repeat, and the infernal has a regeant, i believe.

id feel better leveling with succ, solo and group.

Keep in mind, this entire post is based upon the concept that I am fighting an intelligent, and experienced opponent, a newbie with a high level character is still a newbie.

I have a lvl 46 Gnome warlock on Laughing Skull that is Affliction Specced, my guildmate, Jyaku, is a 55 (Maybe 56 by now) Warlock Destruction specced. We are both in agreement after the recent nerf, PVPing with a Warlock has become utterly painful. However, since chain casting fear is now pointless, this creates a problem with the warlock because my DPS is already the lowest of all classes (with the exception of priests) regardless of your Spec. Now while I am not disputing that warlocks still have potential, we cannot do enough damage with all of our DoTs to take down a warrior or a rogue in one round, when fighting a mage they can cast a .5 casting time dispell that can remove all of our dots, rendering the warlock ineffective. And unless I get the jump on either of these, killing a healing class (druid, priest, shaman, paladin.) is very unlikely.

At this point, a Warlock, when fighting an intelligent opponent, is relatively ineffective in 1v1 pvp. A warlock is, however, very effective in pvp when being used in coordination with other players. My more successful pvp encounters come from group vs group pvp.

Basically my whole point to this post is, if you decide to play a warlock, do not expect major and significant pvp advantages. Oh, and your EXP per hour is pathetic in comparison to the tanking classes, this goes for most casting classes. You have been warned.

One last thing, I am still in the process of experiment with my spec sheet and may in time change my opinion, but at the moment, a warlock needs a little help.

However, there is good news, I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to geico.

Warlocks are possibly the strongest class in 1v1 PvP imo.. at highend ofcourse. However they are also the easiest class to play horribly and hardest to do well with.

Then again i've said this since beta.. not much has changed.

I am curious, what spec have you chosen? You can send me a private message if you do not want to write it over the Messageboard. Maybe at some point I will create an archimonde character and discuss Warlocks with you.... DB is still on Archimonde, yes?

PvP more has to do with skill than class. Pick whatever takes your fancy and if you are skilled you will take people down regardless of how nerfed and pussy your classes features are.

Of course, if you have no skill you need to pick a class that has an easier playstyle. But seeing as everyone thinks they are a PvP god I guess that part is irrelevant :)

Be a hunter Xirdy. And go full survival spec/beast mastery. So then you can be like all the alliance hunters, and be fucking horrible and pointless. In doing so making me underrated and an "easy target." So hordes of lvl 45+'s attack me and get dealt, over and over and over again.

On a serious note, be a hunter and make a good marksmanship template. And stay bows for DPS, Guns are to fucking slow.
I'd say be a rogue, but there is still more nerfing to come for that class I'm sure. Seeing as they are the most broken pvp class ingame. IMO. But then again I guess this is the first game where I've actually seen a rogue favor'd. God knows they got the shortend of the stick in every single RPG besides this one to date.

Warlock dps is very impressive, if you utilize all of the tools given to you. its not going to rival a mage or a rogue, obviously, but rogues/mages dont get fear/mez/life leech. Warlock pvp (especially 1v1) is all about preperation. The voidwalker blows. The imp is okay, but i cant really say i would prefer him in any pvp situation. succubus i still like better as a pve soloing pet so i use her in most of my pvp encounters as well. felhunter is waay underrated; people bitch about this pet and ill never understand it. Dispel is amazingly powerful in itself. If you are fighting a warlock in pvp, and you have felhunter out and he doesnt, you win. his dots genereally get a maximum of 3 ticks, he cant fear you or mez you.
and the one class i thought i would have the most trouble with, rogues, i find to be pretty easy to humiliate, if you have your succ out. They cheap shot, the succ mezzes, you calmly finish whatever mob you are on. curse of shadow, shadowbolt +shadowburn + deathcoil and hes already down a good chunk of hp before the fight even begins. follow up with another mez to nuke again if you like, or just fear/dot/drain life and gg.
like once said, this is a very easy class to play horribly. and like yaarri said, there is a great deal of strategy with every class.
